During the 2004 elections, it became abundantly clear to me that the Democrats or Left leaning groups were reaching for goals that were, at that time, unattainable. EVEN IF , elections had been truly representative, EVEN IF, votes, voices and hand raises had been accurately or truly counted, there was a hurdle to climb that has not been.
Volumes have been written, discussions raised, emails and lists and boards and chat rooms and TV talking heads have been a milieu for echoing like mindedness, or serving to raise such frustration among those whose ideas are in conflict, that we have escalated to the point of talking about armed revolutions.
Once again, the subjects of capitalism, warfare, defense industry profits, corrupt governments, economic classisms, cultural and heritage beliefs, become the barometers for the state of the nation and the moral compass for those who need an anchor to which they attach their views.
Perhaps unbeknownst to some, these discussions pre-date any of us who may engage in them. They predate this nation's founding, and they predate the rise of the named political ideologies. The themes, although perhaps slightly different in their content according to the eras in which they arise, they have been consistently present when the weak become weaker and the strong become stronger. It is a human condition. Some may label it a spiritual condition.
If we focus on the present and realize that the situation we in America face today, no amount of discussion will fix these current presentations of very old problems until we do certain things.
1. AWARENESS OF CERTAIN FACTS AND PARADIGMS THAT EXIST:
A. Survival of the Fittest creates the Normative responses - from the dawn of man, people forming groups develop a pattern of behaviors and beliefs that make them conforming or not. Those who conform, are accepted and those who don't conform, are not accepted. In some situations, that acceptance or not, determines actual survival or not.
B. Those norms are defined by the leaders of the groups. Who determines the leadership roles depends on the many influences of the societies.
C. The socio-political paradigm in the US and America, is broken. Our representative republic is actually representing people, places and things that have very little to do with the positive welfare and safety of the American People. And they get PAID big bucks and benefits and favors and promises and goodies TO NOT REPRESENT the American masses.
D. The American people have been duped. "Father Knows Best" is still playing re-runs and it is time to turn the channel.
SOLUTIONS: Create an American mass that can eventually be accountable and ready for responsible self governance.
Create an Enterprising Non Profit - done.
IMMEDIATE: GET A LANGUAGE PACKAGE WITH TALKING POINTS DESIGNED AND DISTRIBUTED. All the current internet sites. The talking heads. The media. The points will reflect corrected propaganda and focus on where the masses can find the facts. Enlist the Military support and give them a Visible Audience to talk to and make very Public the retaliatory efforts of the Pentagon. Expose the corruption. Give the military the safe arena to disobey illegal orders.
Short term and beyond.
- Teach people WHERE to find the facts. All Americans must have the same base of knowledge about the History and Policies of this nation.
- Wipe out the Existing Congress and start over. Credential the New Congress:
* Background checks
* No Defense Industry, Think Tank, Government Positions x 1 year pre and post (slow the revolving door)
* During their seat, they cannot own corporate stocks; earnings and retirements will be rolled over into State run neutral retirement accounts
* Living Wages, Normal Retirement and benefits, No spousal retirements
- Eliminate the Lobbyist and Corporate Lobby...no person should have to pay to have their voices heard by their elected officials, and no representative or senator should receive funds, gifts, trips, cookies or kisses, for listening to their constituents and making laws accordingly
- Eliminate the Electoral College - 1 person 1 vote
- Eliminate the Campaign Finance machine. Federal allowance only allowed.
HOW
Using a comprehensive package of media, internet and print, the nation's De-Programming will occur.
Using Linguists, package the talking points and use the internet sites as echo chambers. Correct the Propaganda by teaching people how and where to find the truth. Stop spoon feeding the truth to the choirs and dismantle the existing echo chambers.
This package of language will be used in movies, TV, Reality TV, books, etc. etc.
Examples
- International Reality TV: Project Iraq. Send a group of people to live in a house in Iraq with big money awards for completing the tasks. (combine the 'Starting Over House' style with the situation in Iraq - part facilitated psychotherapy, religious mentoring, social instruction, this would be very complex, and edited by the Iraq Media who gets percentage of sponsorship money). Moderated by International, neutral Therapists and Socio-Cultural Scientists and Military Liasons. Awards: $3-5 million per person. Length of time: 30 days.
R-TV: Project UN: Teams compete for the chance to use their plans in the needed changes. Corporate Sponsors will donate $20 million to each team. Winners are paid individually for their contributions.
- TV Sitcom: "Archie Bunker in Saudi Arabia"
- Reality Game Shows: Focus on the Source of the Facts, not the Facts. Big Money.
- "Democracy for Dummies" book
- Sell the language package to the Corporate sponsors. Public Ads, etc etc.
The corporate sponsors will pay for what brings in ratings. Until we can eliminate the Lobby and campaign finance, then sell the people what they will watch and give it to them with a bang on the head as a wake up call.
Consolidate the thousands of non profits and political and information sites and get focused and resourced. The current messaging system is far too diluted and far too transparent in terms of profitteering. Everyone can get a piece of the pie. The existing sites will need to be prepared for market valuation and sell.
